Every person has their own life story that shapes and forms them. Psychological injuries and wounds can affect the flow of energy and severely limit the joy of life. Lost life energy can be regained through body-oriented psychotherapy. Core Energetics® offers a way to solve problems through bodywork.
Core Energetics® is an energy and body-oriented method of psychotherapy that can release blocked life energy, thereby making it possible to experience more joy, health and fulfillment. The individual life story and recurring patterns shape the body. Core Energetics® helps you to become aware of this. Using various techniques, such as breathing exercises, energetic and physical methods or inner images, you learn to deal with it in a loving way. Working with breathing, physical exercises and body therapies open up a new perspective on aspects of life.
The Core Energetics® processes explore the connections between vegetative disorders, muscular tension, emotional blockages, repetitions of life patterns and the underlying psychological conflicts. This body-oriented psychotherapy method sees people as a physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual unit and strives to optimally develop human potential so that the essence of the being can express itself in all its diversity.
Core Energetics® is one of the body psychotherapy methods recognized by the European Association for Bodypsychotherapy (EABP).
Core Energetics® is a strengthening, resource-oriented support for adults and young people on their personal path – especially in difficult phases and during life crises.
Body-centered therapy helps with disturbances in the energy system, which manifest themselves in physical, psychological, emotional or mental symptoms. These include:
The aim of the therapy is to clear the way to the authentic core, to the innermost truth behind the mask. The search for the real being and inner qualities is the main focus. Through Core Energetics®, blocked life energy can be released and more joy in life, love, spontaneity, health and fulfillment can be experienced.
Our body is an important element for the holistic healing process. It represents the life force and the "seat" of our soul. Core Energetics® works with the body, its energy and consciousness. A range of techniques, tools and concepts support this, such as
Through these methods, a strong connection can be created between body, feelings and thoughts. Core Energetics® includes ways to allow energy that is blocked by physical or mental trauma to flow freely again. Therapy enables one to become deeply aware of emotions and conflicting feelings and at the same time offers immense healing potential for the body and psyche.
Therapy takes place in individual, couple or group sessions.

Die Source Connection-Praxis
My practice is located in Bülach and is only a few minutes' walk from the train station. You can easily reach me from both Winterthur and Zurich using public transport. If you are coming by car, you can use the in-house parking space in the underground garage free of charge.
In an initial consultation lasting around one and a half hours, we get to know each other and discuss your concerns and expectations. Based on this, I will analyse your situation and make a proposal for a Core Energetics® treatment tailored to your needs. It is a good idea for you to visit me in my practice every one to two weeks for a therapy session. How long it takes until your blocked life energy can flow freely again is very individual.
Emotions, the state of body, mind and soul are seen and treated as a whole in Core Energetics® body psychotherapy. Body therapy enables deep psychological access to unconscious psychological processes. By working on a physical level, we can change deep-seated negative beliefs and turn them into positive ones. We work on energy blockages that can cause stress, fears and psychological problems, as well as physical symptoms.
Core Energetics® is a form of body-psyche therapy related to bioenergetics and the therapeutic approaches of Wilhelm Reich. Dr. John Pierrakos and Dr. Alexander Lowen, both medically trained therapists and assistants to Wilhelm Reich - who in turn were followers of Sigmund Freud - founded the "Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis" in 1956. Dr. John Pierrakos developed the Core Energetics® method from bioenergetics, which sees people holistically, and founded the Institute for Core Energetics in New York in 1974.
Core Energetics® restores a balanced flow of energy between consciousness, body, emotions, mind and spirit through the five fundamental levels of being. This energy is similar to the Chi of traditional Chinese medicine, Indian Prana energy and Reichian Orgone energy. Psychotherapist and psychiatrist Dr. John Pierrakos was the first Western scientist to bring together energy, spirituality, psychology and psychiatry.
When energy flows are smooth and unhindered, well-being and optimal functioning are ensured. However, when energy flows are weak or blocked, the foundation for health is lacking. Such deficiencies can be observed in areas of the body where there is too much or too little energy. Energy disturbances affect the body and can affect psychological functioning, as described in the scientific work of Reich and Lowen.
Body therapy includes all forms of therapy that focus on the physical body of a person. Massages, physiotherapy, targeted physical exercises, but also practices such as Qi Gong. Patients should actively engage with their bodies and thus prevent or cure ailments such as back pain.
As a body psychotherapist, I combine body therapy with psychotherapeutic methods. Body, mind and soul are inseparably connected and therefore require a holistic approach. Dealing with problems does not only relate to a single symptom, but to the patient as a whole and their feelings.
For decades, body therapy and body psychotherapy did not receive the attention they deserved in the field of psychology until modern research results in the 1990s proved their effectiveness. Today, it is clear to most psychotherapists that for many patients, classical psychoanalysis should at least be supported by integrative methods with a holistic approach.
In 2004, a group of ten neuroscientists declared:
"We have discovered that in the human brain, neuronal processes and consciously experienced mental-psychological states are closely related to one another and that unconscious processes precede conscious ones in a certain way."
